Through mental training, doctors are working to help patients recognize craving behaviors and experience greater pleasure in everyday experiences. Eric L. Garland, Ph.D, describes how University of Utah psychotherapists are using ‘mindfulness’ techniques to retrain the brain against pain pill addiction.
