Sexual assault is the only violent crime in Utah that has a higher incident rate than the national average. But, many survivors may feel hesitant or unsafe seeking medical help. Women's health expert Kirtly Jones, MD, talks with Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Haley Lichtie, from Wasatch Forensic Nurses, about the comprehensive evaluation process and essential care provided following a sexual assault. The discussion also highlights the support and resources available to survivors beyond the examination, and the path to recovery.
